Sharing talents with Tanya from Oh Flora Studio
I love scrolling down my instafeed for inspiration and flowers always fascinate me. I just love how no two flowers are ever the same and how each flowers hold its own meaning and significance.
Infact, I follow more florists/ flower business over artists on instagram. I look at flowers as shapes, colours and moods rather than how the flowers are styled and put together ( hence I think I would never be able to become a florist).
Tanya from Oh Flora Studio was someone that I have always been genuinely interested as she always shares so much of her dailylife ( sharing biz and flowers tips) on her insta stories. I found her creative journey very interesting. And after chatting over Instagram, we decided to meet up and exchange our talents. I had the honor to teach lettering (which I will share in my next blog) and had the chance to learn how to put together a beautiful bouquet + centerpiece.
Her little home studio had just the right amount of sunlight and was filled with beautiful blooms. I could see all the paper work piled up on her desk and big memos stuck on the wall. I think all the creative biz owners I have met are some what similar when it comes to creating a beautiful mess.
Tanya is a lovely girl- super down to earth, genuine and bubbly. She explained all the tips and tricks including tips and tricks when it comes to purchasing flowers at the flower markets and how to put together an abundant, floral centerpiece and arrangement. She really loves what she does and I totally love people that take their work super seriously and wholeheartedly. She honestly shared so much more than what I normally expect to learn in a workshop and I think she is a gifted teacher. We chatted about the business sides of stuff including workshops, inspiration and how we got to where we are. Tanya openly shared about all the ins and outs of her business. Although we work in different area, being a creative entrepreneur we found so many similarities as we we going through the same creative process.
